I need a new gas cap for FJ62 one (no I wasn't the one who lost it, well maybe I was :o)

Can I go generic, or should I just call up Cruiser Dan? And is Dan available on a Saturday? I would buy through my dealer but paid $32 for a oil filler cap once...

There are several 62s being parted out in the classifieds section. You could start by PMing about those.... Likely find one quite cheap.

You should just get a new one. The gas cap gasket wears out. I think I got one from CruiserDan for around $5 or so. Call the local dealer and hopefully it shouldn't be much more than that.

For the gasket, or the whole thing? That's not bad at all.

i bought a generic metal one at advance for like $3.00 when i left mine on a pump. works ok. will get a oem one when i need to order some other parts from Dan.

Just go OEM. I tried a Stant cap from NAPA when replacing mine, and it didn't fit or seal right. Could smell gas fumes in the truck, and you could actually work the cap off without unscrewing it. First thought they sold me the wrong one, went back to the store to check, just to get denied. I can't remember exactly what I paid from the dealer for an OE cap, but I wanna say somewhere around 17 bucks or so. Wasn't in stock, but they had it in a day.
