I am preparing to drop the chassis next month to change the rest of the mounts and bushings, do some work on AC lines and then rust proof it for the next 20 years.
I will sandblast first, but I have been debating galvanising vs epoxy prime + paint. My concern is that I haven't seen any example of a galvanised 100 (or 80 for that matter) frames. Seems to be a thing with 40, 55 and maybe 60s. It's the go-to solution for Land Rovers (especially in the UK) and have seen a couple of Patrols done too. Just no modern Land Cruisers
Is there an issue with the 100 frame? The steel?
I do not plan to weld anything to it, so that is not an issue for me. Galvanising seems to be cheaper than epoxy + paint, but it's a small difference that is of no concern.

Check out the 60’s section, pretty well documented over there, i’ve Seen some that after sandblast and galv hot dip the chassis gets powder coated. Pricey but durable.

any threaded holes in the frame will need to be tapped before threading a bolt into it.
it sure looks pretty when done.

Yeah, I am prepared to do a lot of tapping, that is the least of my concerns. Warping is the only thing that worries me.

I don’t think warping will be an issue as long as you just a shop that has experience doing vehicle chassis. Old Land Rover frames (and Cruisers) are a lot let stout.

you said you’re dropping the chassis to replace bushings and work on AC lines. It’s going to take a lot more to get the frame prepped. Pretty sure it has to be a bare frame or very close to it.
