Awesome Gabe, good job man!

well i lost an entire morning trying to break the bolts from the front axle to the front drive shaft female slip yoke. Could not get them to budge. Used a grinder and ground off the back of the bolts and it still will not budge. Going to the shop monday. I simply can not deal with it anymore at this time.... Pic to come later today.

Do you have an impact hammer Gabe? If so put on the chisel attachment and place it in the groove between the two and hammer away, this should get them apart...it's liable to have rusted together on the surface and that's why it is hard to get off...even with mine I always have to use a big screwdriver to get the two apart...and you didn't waste your morning you just added to your list of experience

A little heat and a sharp rap with a BFH will do the job too. If you are leary of the impact hammer.:)

I have bfh and impact hammer. Now that i am calm enough to see straight i will fight with it again saturday.

bolts.webp

Not trying to be a smart ass but were you turning them the right way?

Soak them in pb blaster.

They are hardened bolts so don't listen to chuck.

Misread the post, thought you already had all the bolts off and couldn't get the two to seperate, but I see the bolts are still in there, once you get the bolts out and if it doesn't seperate a crow bar will help

I even tried it with an impact hammer/socket and nothing doing!

guess i could drill them out!

Don't forget heat can be your friend, then bfh on the wrench or impact etc. after the bolts are out chuck's idea will work wonders. Keep calm heat the bolts not your self and you will get it loose. :)

Well the shift linkage thing fell back into the case today. Rig is back home though. I think the case is stuck in 4low. Got to drain and split the case again. Apparently the seal and washer is what keeps it from falling back into the case...

well aint that some chit! Parts came in and literally is just a bolt... I was thinking there was something special about it all. I could have gotten this for free at work.:bang: $13 down the drain...

Tore it back down tonight. Can,t get that stupid bolt setup to work with the linkage so I am having it drilled at the plant and inserting a pin. I am tired of fxxxing with it.

well i figured the stupid bolt thing out. Guess i will put a little rtv in the hole the bracket goes thru so it does not fall back down long enough for me to hook everything back up.

Got it back to gether and took a lap around the block. Leaks like a siv around some of the bolts that tie the covers onto the back and side of the case. Gonna have to rent a torque wrench.

OK I am on 1st shift all week so someone help me out here. Guessing I need to take the corners off and re rtv them. I am missing a bolt up top also so I think that is why that leak is present.
