i think the paper seal is off and inside the hole keeping it from threading.

Loosen up the other bolts just enough to be able to wiggle the case, then move the gasket very gently so as not to tear or rip it, don't force it at all...if that doesn't work take the case back off and check to be sure the seal is on correctly, some of the seals are close if they are flipped over, but I can't remember if that is the case with that particular seal, you will also know if it's hitting it when u take it off you'll see where is made a mark on the seal

yeah gonna be a while before i can go back out. Next week sometime. Gonna loosen the bolts but don't know about taking that bi$%^ back apart...

well i finished buttoning up the tcase today. Trying to figure out the linkage now. For some reason the linkage keeps separating at the spot where a flat plastic plate goes into the other part of the linkage. Gonna make sure all the bolts are good and tight 1st.

the plastic thing keeps popping out. Might be so worn it has to be replaced.

There is just 1 washer the other one is a seal. Not really a big deal.

You need to have that washer in there, otherwise it will rattle and annoy the crap out of u....I'm not sure that what it is doing is such a big deal...I think I may have used electrical tape on mine but that was to try and hunt down the vibration

well i had to resplit the case today. Damn shifter lever fell into the case. Got it back together less stake nuts i am going to have to replace now. Can i get them at autoparts store or do it have to order them from toyota?

2. Can i just put the oil in the tranny from the top before i put the shifter back on?

3. Is this hamom ever gonna end?

Also i was able to get it to shift but that plastic keeps separating from the linkage. May have to redneck something up with some tie wire i guess.

You can reuse the stake nut, 9 times out of 10 it doesn't line up in the same place it did before so you can restake it in a new place

Listen to Chuck he knows the mafia way.

got it filled full of oil and the rear drive shaft on today. Moved it around the yard on its own power as well. Still got to install front drive shaft, exhaust, and inspection cover. I am still worried about the case linkage. It moves freely but wondering if it is actually doing anything. We will see soon enough i guess...

Onward to the goal!!!! :)

Yeah I hope to possibly drive it out Saturday but it has to have a good wash first.
