Scary, but watch about 45 seconds in and you will see a built 4runner or landcruiser on fire coming in on the right.

Since I was perusing through old pics it's been a long time since this one has been posted, think I'm gonna make the audio my ringtone for Nick!!:moon:

That is always a good video to watch but here is an old picture you might like Ted. You almost wrecked the nicest truck on our ride. :flipoff2:

That video is never gonna die...

So it doesn't have a name yet and the plan for now is probably just gonna get baselined, tagged and driven around while I acquire parts.

It runs like a sewing machine. 1992 with 156k original miles. Interior is almost perfect, body has a few dents and the hood paint is trashed, but almost everything works like it should.

The guy serviced the trans and now it's a little herky jerky but once it's up to speed it will cruise at 70 at around 2300 rpm. I've never driven a bone stock one and it actually rides and drives pretty nice.

As a matter of fact it drives so nice and everything works so well that the discussion now is to perhaps make it the driver and turn Bruce (so named for the great white shark in Finding Nemo) into the trail monster. Either way, one will get a 4spd and split case, and a toybox when I can find one and become a 4 seated trail rig and the other will be a sunday driver.

More pictures once the rain let's up.

congrats Jynx, I'm gonna enjoy watching this one come together. Whats the end result gonna look like, tires, cage, etc.?

@tkinze not 100% sure currently. The trans in brown one was "serviced" and now is a little herky jerky in traffic. Always heard that servicing a high mileage trans can often do more harm than good and this sounds like a product of that. Once it is up and running it pulls good and drives smooth, just up and down across 2nd seems to be the issue. So that is where the 4spd and split case will come into play. Might even look at an h55 eventually, but h42 for now.

Biggest issue now is gonna be deciding which one will get the beating cause the deuce (current name for the brown one, and subject to change) seems to have the best interior, paint (other than the hood) and cleanest underneath. The white one has all the beef already and the paint and body are a little worse for wear, plus the interior is a little more worn and more electrical gremlins. Who knows at this point which way things will go.

Hey will that diff cover you got at GSMTR fit a SF 80 rear axle? :D

I will get a thread started somewhere to keep up with how everything goes down.

@Sam Stewart looks like I'm gonna be calling you soon.

No idea, was gonna list it but if it fits and you want it, it's yours!!

Congrats Jynx. Can't wait to see what you do with this one.

What kind was it? I will check it out. Ruff stuff?

Looks like it should fit. Consider it a deal, and if it happens to not fit, I will list it and send you the $$. Work for you?

sorry bud, no dice. It's yours, if it don't work for ya sell it and take that wonderful family out to dinner.
