I just moved to.my new place in east Cherokee and glad I am not moving this weekend.

East Cherokee? We are close then!

Welcome to Cherokee.

Damn this is cool, I'm sure it's cheap too. Maybe @jynx can learn how to race these buggers and then teach us.

My son is getting into that.

Anyone going to the meeting tomorrow?

Well, I don't quite belong to this forum yet, but hopefully I will soon. I have driven the diesel Prado overseas, and love that truck, so I would really like to move into the world of cruisers. I am looking at the 1st gen GX470. I have never owned a Toyota truck of any kind, and moving from an '04 z71 Tahoe to a Lexus is a huge change. I suppose the reason for this post is to see what ya'll think about the GX, and just get some info on what I should be looking for. Im avoiding a straight cruiser because, from what Ive read, the mpg is worse than my Tahoe (13mpg city and hwy) is that accurate to your experience? Im just a noob looking for some guidance, so any help is appreciated, thanks!

I get 15 on average in my 99 cruiser. This is around Canton and highway combined. You will need to ask Dan Kunz ^ who posted above what he gets on his modded GX.

12-14 depending on driving behavior :)

I dont know much about the GX470, but isnt it more comparable to a 4Runner?

I'm sure it'll be the usual 5-10 ppl.

I'll be one of those 5-10. also will have some club koozies and T-shirts for sale (we still have a few smalls, larges, and XL's)

Careful!!! Them sounds like fightin' words right there! But seriously, I think the later models do have the same running gear. Not sure on dimensions though. Maybe Dan can weigh in?

:clap: Land Cruisers, LX's, GX's, 4Runners: all are very capable vehicles!!! And this forum and club are the places to be for said vehicles.

Its not like I am comparing it to a Heep :grinpimp:...

The GX470 and the 4Runner have the same frame and engine from the minimal research I just did on them. The only reason I would point this out is because the 4Runner would be a better comparision for gas mileage than a Land Cruiser...

Agreed. My cruiser is a fat pig that loves high octane.

Anybody in the Douglasville/West GA area? I have a draw on my battery I'm trying to track down, left me stranded today. Any known Toyota mechanics open tomorrow? Thanks in advance.

cruising home the other day from work and some dude with his little kid were hauling ass up 400 doing about 80 pulling a trailer. Finally caught up with him at a light so I had to take this:

Seems legit right?
