If it sounds too good to be true, it is. The "chip" is very likely a $1 resistor. You plug it inline with the IAT sensor wiring harness, so it can give false air temps to the ECU and adjust the fuel air mixture. The fuel air mixture will no longer be correct, because it is based on false readings. The magical claims they make are just BS. If you really want to do it, do a little research and buy the resistor for a buck and try it out.

I have never heard of a (real) plug and play chip for the 3FE.

How about the one from performance products? I almost bought one back in 01 or 02. Called them on it and he told me to make all my engine mods first & he would program it to match. Hat the money when I called, didn't have it when I needed it or i would be sporting one. Of course, it isn't quite Plug & Play. Send them your ECM & they will instal & return. At least that was what the were doing back then.

Haven't seen that before. I would be hesitant about them being able to "Program the chip for any modifications" to the truck, if they don't actually have the truck there. They will be guessing, and frankly, I doubt they have sold more than a handful of chips for the 3FE. Hopefully someone with more info or experience with the 3FE Jet chip can post. I don't have a 3FE, but this is kind of an interesting topic.

They would just be engine & geering mods. I've known people to get chips "burned" for GMs & Fords in the past and there are a lot more engine mods for those than there are for us. I had a Jacobs ignition box and coil on my 3FE for a while. Wasted money in my opinion. No noticeable gains but I left it on due to laziness. Finally unhooked it when my truck wouldn't start. Went back to stock & it fired right up. Of course, it is still bolted to my inner fender.:)

I would be interested to see another users experience with a chip for the 3FE I did a baseline maintenance on mine not to long ago and performance enhanced substantially so maybe a chip will send it over but have to have mud data to convince the wife.

$69

These G force chips are on sale right now for $69 for my 97 LX450.......I'm going to check with my mechanic today on his take on it.

Trailbus, I had one(Jacob's) on my wifes 95 4Runner. Same thing. It quit running, I disconnected it and started up and ran fine for 8 years. Left it under the hood as well. It was still there when she totaled it last spring. Never buy another one(Jacobs)
