Dam, I didn't get the pink panties with mine, maybe CDan can order them for me? When I was picking my truck up at the BMW steeler they had BMW thongs for sale in the parts department, so with a BMW you get thongs and a Lexi only gets panties? What a rip! :D

Outta luck there. C-Dan can't get Lexus specific parts. Pink panties were Lex only. I think the Bimmer guys are holding out on you. I think you can get a set for free if you register your LX 450 on the www.lexus.com site. I know you can order replacement owner's manuals for free -- the panties should right around there somewhere...

Well.... thanks and I'm very flattered. Oh BTW, my LX did not come with pink panties, it came with a boxer shorts. :D

I was looking for a Landcruiser and couldn't find one, then I remembered about the LX's and my first search online picked one up less than 200 hundred miles away. Lower insurance costs and a wife that is a princess added up to the LX.

Hi. I'm new to the forum. I just got the ome 2" lift for my 80 and 305 geolandars. Next I wanted to put on some sliders. Till i saw slee and maf prices. Does anyone know of any alternatives?

LX is still a Land Cruiser girlie edition. :D

Im new here so dont go yelling at me.

Im from Colorado and have always wanted a cruiser as we all know all about them. When it was time for a new truck my wife and I looked and looked fo LC's but could not find one we liked. I knew that the Lexus was the same for the most part as the LC's and told me wife about that, of coarse she then wanted one. As I was looking at the LX's with one eye closed like I was going to get a sharp punch along with the price tag, I noticed that at least in Colorado the LX's were much much cheaper. Im talking about the late 90 models. I looked at probally 100 LC's and LXs weather they were on Ebay or Craigs list anything I could find and here locally the LXs averaged about $3000 less than the LC.

Thats money in my pocket for other goodies on my new rig. I could care less what anyone thinks about the Lexus deal and they can judge me all they want, Im just happy we found a tank and I finially own a LC/LX

Looking forward to learning from everyone

Hey Beowulf thanks for all your help you really added some value to this topic

I know your type what did you do play the trumpet in elementry school and got picked on by the jocks and now every chance you get you pull the spelling card out to get back. What ever makes you fell good!

Great welcoming

MR B :flipoff2: right back at ya

You gotta grow some thicker skin! After Beowulf's close to 5,000 tech posts, and being one of those who have read most of them for the past 3-4 years, I know he has added alot to these boards. So take his advice, as it is much easier on everyone if we communicate clearly. There are even spellcheck programs you can get for using in forums like this. IOW when you are a newbie don't piss off the knowledgeable old timers if you don't have to.

Oh yeah, welcome! How do you like your pink panties? (If you are offended, do a search and you will realize you don't need to be offended)

Sorry to get under you skin there kiddo. The post was meant as a bit of humour along with the standard newbie 'Mud greeting.

My sincere apologies.

Thanks seal for the reply, I have tough skin as far as the spelling goes.

On other off road (dirt bike) forums I have around 2000 posts and 1000's and 1000's of off road miles with 28 years of riding behind me. I have probably even helped some of you in Moab and around the Boulder Area with tipped cruisers and wenching. I'm also a member of the Blue Ribbon Coalition, COVCO, and Utah Alliance, (all of which fight to keep our areas open) so even though I'm new here I have been fighting to keep stuff open for years for you and Mr B as well, so I also have info to bring to the table, I just wasn't used to that kind of welcome, the forums I spend most of my time in will cancel your membership for that, so I'm just learning how the game is played here.

As far as the truck I love it and couldn't be happier and cant wait to spend time "testing it"

This site was very helpful in my decision

if that's the case...you don't want to venture over to the pirate4x4 board... ;)

Read the archived threads... much info there.

Welcome aboard :flipoff2:

Choosing the LX vs LS

OK... this will always be a moving target, but here's why I'm getting an 06 LX instead of a 06 LC. I'm replacing a 94 LC that has been a fantastic vehicle. When people ask me what I'm getting, I find myself answering "Another Landcruiser" even though I know it's going to be the Lexus.

LC Advantages

1) Less estrogen

2) Not so snooty

3) More reliable suspension

LX Advantages

1) Mark Levinson Audio - This is as good as it gets, and a big differentiator in my mind.

2) More sound insulation - This is also important. Quiet is nice.

3) Better/More/Standard airbags - The standard LX package has more bags than the optional bags on the LC

4) Adjustable suspension - At first I considered this a disavantage, but I changed my mind. On long high speed drives, I can lower the center of gravity and get a smoother, safer ride. I can tune to a firm ride and clearance when I need it.

5) Nav standard instead of optional, so the price differences is reduced. The LC Nav/Airbag/Etc option package alone closes $5500 of the price difference between the two.

6) Reverse tilt mirrors - May seem like a small thing, but they're nice to have

7) Better front seats - The lexus seat is more adjustable, is more comfortable, and has a two person setting memory. I don't think the memory feature is available on the LC, and it's a nice feature.

8) Lexus service - In my area, I'm pretty fed up with the service at my Toyota dealership. I think they look at the LC as a great opportunity to make some extra money. I'm sick of them trying to replace my front brakes when they've only got 10K on them.

9) The interier trim finish is better. All the little touches do add up.

I asked the Lexus dealer if they'd swap the emblems for Landcruser emblems, but I just got a dirty look in response.

LOL you can still go to Dan and do it your self, better yet just delete them and keep em guessing.

ColoradoCarlisle - you do " wenching "? I lived in Denver for a year and saw maybe 10 good looking women. Where do you get your wenches?

I'm from the SE so I'm way spoiled in the way of attractive women. They smell good and generally prefer heels to birkenstocks.....
