About the TPS (throttle position sensor)-
Ive been testing/ adjusting the TPS per the manual since the truck started stumbling idle, harsh shifting points etc.
But- no matter where i position the sensor during or after the procedure described in the manual- the truck wont idle correctly without the AC on. It will stay at 900rpm with ac on, with occasional drop to 600 or below when ac cycles.
If i turn the ac off it drops to about 400 rpm and wants to stall. The tps sensor itself looks brand new.
The ohm readings i get are somewhat along the lines of the manual and what others show the ohms moving gradually from 1 -3 , no continuity to 3 ohms or however it goes. Maybe im not reading it correctly?
I got it to where the truck was running ok, not perfect- and then tried moving the sensor ever so slightly each way to adjust to perfection- but it never gets anywhere near perfect idle without the ac on.
Whats the trick? Why cant i find the setting even though i slowly moved the tps sensor throughout the entire adjustment range with no effect.
No , there are no vaccum leaks. Was thknking maybe the MAF sensor went out- have another that known to work i could try testing- but my land cruiser specialist said he definitely thinks hinks the tps is the main problem and just get the right setting (free advice- he tries to save me money by leading me in the right direction on the easier to fix problems)
