Acquired a 4Runner in addition to my 62. It will be a dirt road luxury wheeler with no rock crawling. I installed 1.5" daystar spacers on the front to level out the weight of the ARB bumper and tore out the XREAS system.

The front suspension was swapped out for a 2017 tacoma which is a lot better than the tired XREAS system and NOW THE REAR needs love. It is sitting a bit low. A friend said FZJ80 coils fit in the rear but everything I have read online states that is not true.

Does anyone know for a fact if cruiser coils work in the rear of a 4th gen 4runner?

Thanks.

They will. The ride height will be odd as the weights are off.

You are saying they will fit. Can you elaborate on how you know? I'm getting conflicting answers. To be clear I'm looking at 97 FZJ80 rear coils, not 100 series coils.

They have the same diameter and the same lower ramp connection to the coil mount. I have owned 2 80s, a 4th gen, and a GX. I had 80 springs on my GX as a test but they didn't have the weight handling I needed (didn't even drive it). The 80 and 4th/GX have amazingly similar rear suspensions. I wouldn't be paranoid about sending it.

So they fit but were going to offer way too much lift for my current setup.

80s are hippos!
