Picked up a 93 FJ80 about two months ago and have been getting in order ever since. The PO apparently had a long-haired dog, which I am allergic to so I have been cleaning this thing intensely.

Don't know if anyone else has done this, but I just dropped my interior fan (sits just below the glove box) and cleaned it. I used a toothbrush and electro parts cleaner on the fan, which removed approx 95% of the 12 years of buildup - and there was a TON of crap in this thing. Then, I cleaned the ducts to the extent of my reach.

Once I put the fan back in, the volume of air now being pushed out the vents is easily up by 20% - 40%. Plus, I got rid of the annoying buzzing sound!

Again, don't know if anyone has ever done this, but it was a huge creature comfort improvement for 30 minutes worth of time. Hopefully, this was useful.

Thanks for the head's up on this...

Been looking for small things to do to make the overall experience better.

Hopefully this will help the chill baby girlfriend unit.

Best regards.

I passed on a nice '97 with lower mileage than the one I got just for the same reason, prior owner had a big hairy dog and I just happen to be allergic and it would not had matter how many times it has been clean it would still had bother me.

I also have a faint clicking noise from my fan on low settings (sounds like a leaf stuck in it) , I looked at the fan once and it looked dificult to remove,

anyone know if there a diffrence between the 93 and 96 fan removal?
