Fuel Pump Dead

Well my 08 has 154260 miles on it and the fuel pump just died last night.

5-7 days on part!

Any ideas on the cause? I am taking it that it burnt out electrically and not mechanically.

You sure it is not out of gas? I had the same issue, but it turned out to be a bad sending unit only. Was still reading 1/4 tank

I went and out two gallons of gas in it.

No power from fuel pump.

Does it still cycle when you turn the key on, and just not build pressure, or does it make no sound? Could be a bad relay, fuse, wiring if it does not make sound. Mind you, I'm not a 200 series LC mechanic, but I did install a fuel injected 5.0 in my 76 bronco, so I know a bit about EFI wiring and such. Have you run out of fuel lately? That can mean death for an aging fuel pump.

@MEMCruiser , have you used a miltimeter on the pump wire to ensure that it is getting power?

I didnt but the dealer did. That thing went on a trailer straight to the dealer.
