hey all. i just bought my 92' mini truck. It has a 22re motor. Since ive got it i had to replace the frist part of the fuel line which was rusted out. Now its sucking and cutting out. I can not for the life of me fing the fuel filter, im almost positive it has been removed. Spark plugs, air filter and oil are all good. What is my next step? Any ideas are welcome thank you.

p.s i was thinking gas tank rusting out? Run new fuel line to fuel cell???

the filter is located under the intake manifold. uses a 17mm socket to unbolt the fuel lines and a few 12mm bolts to unbolt it from the engine.

sounds like your filter is clogged. 15 bucks at napa

Should be two bolts if you take off the pass side tire and take off the 4 - 10mm bolts that hold on the access plate you should be able to shove your head in the wheel well and look up and see the two bolts pretty easily.
Do yourself a favor and use a jackstand under the frame rail too.

alright well the new fuel filter is installed. Turns:rolleyes: out it wasnt the problem. A guy i know with a mini had mentioned his throttle sensor going bad and having the same problems. So i take my sensor off and blow it out with an air hose, take it for a drive and my truck runs a lot better. wooo. THEn i look up a new one $96.. and im just a broke teenager trying to 4 wheel!!!! so if anyone has an extra sensor laying around please let me know. thank you.

my 87 mini truck that I just obtained does what seems to be this same thing. I already bought the fuel filter from napa and will change that. However, if that doesn't solve my problem, where is that sensor located?

Youngblood, did yours sputter sometimes, then pick up fine, then sputter some more, sometimes running decent, othertimes not? Also, on the highway when I'm get up to speed it like shifts out of overdrive and then back in, back out, back in etc. Doesn't always do it, but I notice the check engine light occasionally kicks on when it does it too. Think this goes along with the same problem or whole new can of worms? Sorry if this is a half a** thread jack.

if the truck is sputtering you need to first check the grounds on the side of the intake manifold. and then the battery connections. there are more things that can cause this, but its the first place to look.

young blood, have you pulled any codes?
did you read my PM?

the sensor s located on top of the motor. looking straight at the motor its towards the left hand side and its just a little plug which will say throttle sensor.very easy to find. yea mine runs good most of the time then will spudder and pick right back up. but i agree with wristpin, it could very well be grounds or battery connection. try unplugging your sensor and blowing it out thats what i did and my truck runs a lot better.

I have no idea how to use codes and or run them. I would like to know though. And i didnt get a pm from you must have messed up buddy.
