I am a newly and did a search for the FPD or fuel pressure damper part number and could not find one. Is there a good place to locate part numbers for these rigs? I have the typical hot start problem. It starts fine in the morning then is really hard to start when out and about. I have already replaced the fuel pump, FPR and checked the fuel pump relay and main EFI. I think the Damper is the key from what I have read. thanks

Toyotaovetstockparts.com lets you look at parts diagram and gives you Toyota numbers.pretty sure.I've ordered from them in the past.no discount tho hit up beno or cruiser dan for that discount

Hey the gurus on here lead me to that site I'm just passing the info on to you since nobody had chimed in yet they will even tell you if the part is no longer available.it's helpful site

That's funny.

There is no fuel pressure damper on a 1FZ-FE. You will never find one available.

There is on the 3F-E (1991-8/1992).

The 1FZ-FE has a Fuel Pressure Regulator (which it looks like you have already swapped out).

Thanks for your reply. My problem was eased when I replaced the FPR but has not gone away completely. Am i right in assuming that the injectors are the next thing in line? I have replaced the fuel pump, fuel filter and FPR. Still having hesitation starts when hot.

Injectors are electronically controlled.

They either work or they don't. IMO.

Test them each based on FSM specs and you will know more.

Factory fuel pump or aftermarket? I'm not sure about the 80 series pumps but the BMW's I used to work on did not like to work well with aftermarket pumps and had weak internal check valves and would cause a similar issue to what you are describing. One way to verify this is to put a mechanical fuel pressure gauge on the fuel supply hose and see if the pressure bleeds off when it sits.

is this on the fuel rail near the firewall? does the original have a plastic top? if not what does it go into? anybody have a pic or diagram of location? sorry for all the questions but thanks for the help.

It has a grey plastic cap which keeps a small set screw captured. You will need a crows foot wrench set to remove it.

Shown here under part #23270 for $58.52
