You could use your points ignition (or an electronic ignition like Pertronix) with a Megasquirt I (v2.2 or v3) controller and the GM 4.3 throttle body. It's simple because MS I only controls fuel. It monitors other inputs* to do it, but it only controls fuel. It's simple and works quite well. Thus my previous comment that spark control on a 2f is probably overkill.
* Megasquirt monitors throttle position, engine temp, rpm, manifold pressure (vacuum), and, in closed loop mode, exhaust gasses. Its software mashes these inputs and decides how much fuel to inject. You can fine-tune the output by logging and analyzing data documenting what your Megasquirt was doing under certain engine conditions, if you choose to. So you can tune for power, extra lugging grunt, or fuel efficiency, or whatever else you're looking for.
