Hello, this is my first post! I'm a new 80 series owner, picked up my HDJ81 about 2 months ago. Trying to go thru everything and fix any issues before I go on longer voyages. One of my issues is with my fuel heater. I have the OEM fuel heater module on my fuel filter housing, and the wires from it go into the OEM harness. On my fuse panel, I have the "FUEL HTR" relay spot, and a fuse slot, with a good 20A fuse. The issue is, the fuel heater relay spot is empty, and the slot doesn't even have any pins on the inside, its just empty! Am I missing something? Would be odd for the system to have everything in place except the relay. Pretty sure my rig has the cold weather package as well, it has heated seats. Any help is appreciated!

As you can see, No relay, and no pins! (white slot top right).

I wondered the same after seeing the empty relay socket. The answer is the diesel fuel heater circuit doesn't use a relay, it is directly powered through the 20A fuse and turns itself on and off through an internal switch. Now why is there an unused relay socket... maybe it is used in a different spec/model, maybe they added it to the design initially but later ditched the relay.
