In need of replacing my lines as I will be patching my frame asap. I’ve made brake line so I’m not totally clueless at flaring other than fuel being different from brake.
Fuel line is 5/16? Will replace w/ copper nickle. Flares are?
I’ve searched and came up w/ lots of fun old threads but minimal info on actual hardline replacement.

I'm gonna guess they pass into a rubber hose at both ends so no flares? Maybe if you wanted to get fancy you could do a bubble flare as kind of a barb. The older LC fuel lines had a compression fittings in some places, but I don't think the 60 does (except at carb). Could be wrong though.

What he said, only a bubble flare to contain the clamp, no fittings. Lines, I believe, are metric but 5/16” is closest, though a hair small?

Ok thanks. I’m under her now and yeah I see no flares, goes to hose as you all say. I did find a cool site of a guy who figured out how to make the bubble, seemed easy enough. Thank you!
I’ll say I tried measuring my lines but my truck had an oil seal at some point so everything is covered in a layer of cement basically.

Pressure washer is your friend. Will make a nasty job much more pleasant

I did a half assed Barb on hard fuel line to transition to rubber on my car. I have 2 flaring kits. I used the clamp bar things out of both and clamped on the hard line say 1/2" apart. Then I put a c clamp on both sides and clamped down evenly. Made a pretty good bump to retain the rubber has held for years.

When I did this, I bought the closest length pre-fab brake line (like a 4' section), sawed off the included nuts with a hacksaw, and pushed the rubber hose over the remaining now-nutless flared ends. Easy, and brakes lines are sold in many increments of length. You can creatively bend the line if you need to rid yourself of a few inches. You could also do this now as a temporary fix, and do a more elegant job when you have more time.

Brake comes in 5/16?

I just use the 'Attach files' button in the post reply area, upload the files, and then hit the "Insert: Full Image" button that appears by the file after the upload. You can also hit the little picture icon above the reply field, and drag an image file into the square that pops up. That should insert your picture in line with your text. Using this method it seems you can size the image to make it a little more appropriate for the forum. I don't know which way is better from a forum performance standpoint but either way works for me.

Correction: I used this as a PS cooler line rather than a fuel line, and I think it was 1/4", not 5/16". So, you may not be able to find a pre-flared 5/16" line.

Can you just pm them? If not I can pm my phone number to you and you can text them.

Just in case, Yes 5/16 is available. And I can confirm that a genuine Toyota "olive" and "nut" compression fitting works with 5/16 steel brake line.so I take that as a sign that it's the right size, metric or not. Nicopp may have slightly different dimensions though, but you won't care for the line you're talking about.
