Fuel gauge reads high (1 Viewer)

I know this has been discussed before but I can't seem to find the thread in Search.

My fuel gauge needle intermittently points straight up passed full, even when the tank isn't full. I seem to recall this was a ground issue? Anyone who's already worked through this please give me some insight. Thanks.

I read that you need to pull the gauge out and clean the contact points on the back of the gauge. You should also do it to the temp gauge while you are there. He also mentioned to buy knew instrument lights while you have it all disassembled (buy them ahead of time).
