I've also been using NAPA Gold for my 13B-T although I seem to remember that there are other filter out there with a finer filtering media.

Yeah and more often than not, that 'feeling' is one of bending over and taking it up the you know. Having said that, I've come across quite a few cases where their prices beat aftermarket (thermostats and fuel filters as you mentioned are good examples)

Speaking of bending it over and taking it up the you know...that perfectly describes my feeling yesterday when I picked up my new 4-core rad from Toyota...$490+! Hopefully it lasts a good long while this time.

I use toyota filters for everything. I also only use toyota brake parts - last much longer than aftermarket stuff in my opinoion.

Who makes filters for Toyota?

Purolator makes Ford's filters. For example the FL1A that fits the 13B-T is reportedly a Purolator Pure-1 in Ford's can.
