I am replacing all the rubber lines for the gas tank under the truck. I bought a 12" length of 17/8" diameter for the filler line. Problem is I got this wire reinforced hose that is super stiff. Near unbendable. Even with some heat put to it. Can anyone recommend a less brutish variety?

@cruisermatt has a kit to replace all hoses that go to the fuel tank, including the factory hose clamps.

Nothing fits better then the OEM part.
We are out of stock but will have them back again next week

Throw that out. Get the proper factory piece as they are available. Don’t forget the rubber gasket that goes thru the lower rocker either. I had more trouble removing the screws that hold the cover below the fuel line and other hoses above

CM- I’ve already replaced all the smaller lines and clamps. Do you sell just the large line, clamps and body gasket?

Yes, simply select “Filler Neck Kit Only” on the website. We just got them back in stock and I’ll get the website updated in a little bit.

Nice. How do I work with this?!? “Well I tell ya’ first thing ya do is throw that out! Then ya get the right part in there!” 🤦‍♂️
Looking into parts from CM.
Thanks cruiserpilot.

There is a guy on mud. Dave - Japan4x4 who has access to parts. I use
Megazip.net because it has expensive parts diagrams and tells you how many of
what part you need and the actual Toyota part numbers. So you can at least have the correct numbers
to look at other sources.
I am sorry if a bit blunt but I’ve found over the years the proper part for this kind of thing
is the only way to go, and money spent properly is always best.
It avoids that ‘ putting good money after bad’ to correct something not done right.
