Hello:
Visited the dealer for 90k service. One of the items they are suggesting to get done is Fuel and Air Induction System Cleaning Service. They are charging about 230$ for it. Not a big deal, but want to understand if this is legit and should be performed? If yes then how often do you get this service done? Thank you in advance for your response.

$230?!

Unnecessary if you are staying on top of your maintenance otherwise. Fresh oil and actually getting the engine good and warm once in a while reduces byproducts that go into the PCV system, good air filters protect the MAF, throttle body, and other parts.

Use BG44k for the fuel system… you can get it on amazon… same stuff the dealerships usually use.
Cleaning the intake is usually just them spraying electrical contact cleaner in there and calling it good. (If they even actually do that)
I’ve had a couple of times when they didn’t even rotate the tires when they were paid to, they had to take it back and do it for real, this was after I had to get the manager involved since the service tech didn’t believe me…
Some of my wheels are pretty obviously scratched so it’s easy to tell

And it can cause a CEL and codes. It's just a dealer profit pack, especially at $230.
