Hey guys,
I listed this in the general classifieds yesterday, but thought it might be better received here.

Hey all,
Trying to help my mom sell my dad's 1973 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ55. He passed away recently, and now she wants it gone. It's definitely a project though. Missing driver's side fender and quarter, rust throughout. Interior is pretty rough. Engine is all original. Has a nice winch on it. Hasn't run in about 10 years. I don't want to s**** it if we can avoid it. Has clear Wisconsin title.Anybody need a project? $400 and it's yours.
Location: Eau Claire, WI roughly 90 miles east of Msp/St Paul. Vehicle is easy access for trailering.

Thanks for looking.

Priced to MOVE!

Bandito,

Welcome to MUD!

I am sorry to hear about your Dad. Good on ya for helping your Mom.

Good price - that will get her gone.

An afternoon of cleaning will yield immediate results, and you can get better pics of her.

What kind of winch does it have? Can you get a pic of that? If it is PTO, someone will not hesitate to drop 4 bills and call it good.

A little photo help:

Thanks Pablo! I'll try to get better pictures this week. If anybody has specific questions, let me know and I'll try to answer them. If you want pictures of anything in particular let me know.

thanks
Matt

Updated photos, new lower price.

New pics uploaded today.
I'm including a few here, the rest are at Picasa Web Albums - Matt Hoy - toyota

After closer examination, the majority of the sheet metal seems shot. The right rear wheel is off, but I do have it to put back on. The interior is pretty rough too. I'm willing to take substantially less than the original $400 I was asking. Make me an offer.

Hmmm, as bad as it looks, it doesn't look that bad. Kudos to your dad for not molesting it, it looks bone stock, and would probably run with a fuel flush and fluid change. Heck, the cowl rubber is intact, and the M/C still has fluid! Glovebox door still has the handle thingy!

Sorry to hear about your dad.

Thanks for the kind ords brider. If anybody's interested in this thing, please let me know. I'm really hoping to have it gone soon. I've even got the original owners manual for it, although it's a little brittle. I'm amazed how good the manual is. They actually showed you how to tear down the engine, not like a modern car manual which only shows you how to set the radio stations.

Would you be willing to part it out if no one will buy? Thanks Sry to hear about your dad....

I'm not really equipped to part it out. It's across town from me, and I don't have anywhere to store the parts. I'd really like somebody to just come and trailer it away. If $400 is too steep, I'm open to offers too.

thanks
Matt

Just a heads up, I posted a couple more pictures of the winch area on this thing. It doesn't have a PTO winch that I can tell, but I think the frame extensions that people find so desireable are there. Please look at these 2 pics and tell me whether or not this is the "extended frame".

yes it is a PTO winch, just not OEM, the frame has been extended by welding on pieces not the desired frame extensions from OEM units, which bolt on.

Does it actually have a shaft running to it? hard to tell in the pics

In the second photo, the hole in cross member for the shaft looks empty. Located behind winch on the right, near the handle. My guess, Someone won't get the shaft.
Lottsa usable parts for the price.

There's no shaft that I can say, and I don't recall my dad ever talking about it being a PTO winch. He used it a few years ago, so I'm assuming it's a retrofitted electric winch in a PTO winch chassis.
