Anyone have some FR Pictures out there with the mounts? What size did you get? Short or Tall?

I am still looking at Roof Racks and noticed that the FR rack has short or tall feet to choose from...Looks like one can mount a table underneath...Maybe the reason for the tall rack????

Looks interesting...Not sure yet though. Still like the Gamiviti and LabRak...

Thanks

I have a FR rack and didn't know there were two mount sizes - I would assume mine are the short ones. Good that you pointed this out as I was thinking of doing that table thing underneath, but now that I look at it, there is no room.

Unless you plan on purchasing the under-rack sliding table, go short. I really can't think of any other reason to get the tall ones. You'll still be able to get into some parking garages with the shorties. I was loving life until I installed the FR ax mount. No more city parking for me!

Fixed it for ya ;-)

The place you should pull your measurement from is just behind the middle row post. If you take from the front or rear its incorrect as your roof curves more.

It's 1-5/8 at the rear of the sunroof and the lowest you can go and still vent the sunroof.

Use the short towers to minimize wind resistance.

Use the tall towers if you're going to put a table underneath.

Just so people see what we are talking about.

At $295 it's a little up there for a table but very solid. I am looking into determining if I can fit the Frontrunner storage rails on my Rhino Rack as a retrofit. I have a great folding aluminum camp table but would often like something a little more sturdy.

another advantage of a raised rack that I can see is the ability to mount larger lighting systems under the rack which I think I would prefer.

Our new prep table is about 8" narrower than the full size table. Other than that it is identical, so storing it under the rack takes up the same amount of space.

Many people have answered already but yes, most people would prefer to run the shorter feet unless you wanted to store a table underneath, then you would run the taller. Let me know if you have any other questions, thanks!

The table mounts are really tight

I could barely get the packing blanket out after installing. I am afraid that it might rub with a load.
