Guys,

Just cleaned out my front wells behind the plastic. Unbelievable the amount of stuff hidden in there. Is there anyway to seal these up or something? Has anyone come up with a solution.

You wouldn't want to seal that up. You want to have it open. Just clean it out once a month. Sealing debris out means sealing water in...and then having to replace it due to rust. I cut a little slot on mine, jam a pressure washer in there at the car wash and it's cleaned out.

uzj100...same problem here. I've thought about cutting the lower portion of the fender liner off entirely to promote easier spray wand removal of mud & crud that accumulates there. I'm long past any aesthetic concerns with my rig :D so maybe now's the time ;)

That area on the right side is air intake for engine, so can't seal up that side. But it sure does get a lot of dust in air filter since tire throws it up into that space. I just fixed that dust issue on mine with a new snorkel.

Allowing that area to be "exposed" or opened up will allow/ help promote a corrosion issue.

Your doing the correct things cleaning this area to better allow drainage but "opening" it will allow more debris to hit that surface vs plastic cover and abrade surface.

^ agree...but the fender could be Line-X'd or similar.

Pretty easy to remove the 2 torx bolt, pull the plastic liner back a bit and spray in behind there to clean things out a few times a year.

Can someone help confirm whether this is what the inside of the DS wheel well should look like? I got my LC back from the body shop around the holidays and thought it was strange that the windshield washer reservoir was as exposed as it is. I feel like there should be a liner to protect that and the light components from road debris/crap kicked up by the tires, but I can't find any grommet holes for where a liner would be attached. Anyone mind posting pics of their front DS wheel well? Thanks in advance.

Looks like they forgot to put this cover back on.
Looks like you're right. I don't remember ever being able to see the reservoir before, and this confirms it. Thanks for the quick help!
