I rebuilt my driver's seat back in January with new Gamiviti gears and was pretty happy. I have used these gears on every cruiser I have owned with no complaints.. then my daughter decided she wanted to use my cruiser for a week when I was out of town. The seat had to come most of the way forward for her which it did but when I got home and put the seat back the whole way (my normal position) the whole thing twisted and the gears got chewed up. Thankfully I had a spare set of gears so swapped them in but the same thing happened again the next time my daughter drove the car. I checked the the mechanisms and everything looked perfect and clean of all the old grease and cog shrapnel from all the chewed up cogs.
I ended up buying a brass set from ebay which took about 3 weeks to arrive. In the meantime I used the last plastic gear I had and sure enough it lasted 1 day.
I'm not saying there is an issue with the Gamiviti gears but I did realize that every set i have fitted were never used in the real world. I would put the seat full back and it would never move again..ever..until my daughter passed her driving test and wanted the coolest truck in the school parking lot.
The brass ones I fitted worked fantastic and have seen lots of forward and backward motion. I couldn't be happier with them.

Finally replaced all 4 of mine today. Tried the brass gears a couple weeks ago but they were way too tight. Ended up using the Gamiviti’s I had in the motor pots and replacing the entire assembly’s on the other side with OEM units. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
