I rebuilt my driver's seat back in January with new Gamiviti gears and was pretty happy. I have used these gears on every cruiser I have owned with no complaints.. then my daughter decided she wanted to use my cruiser for a week when I was out of town. The seat had to come most of the way forward for her which it did but when I got home and put the seat back the whole way (my normal position) the whole thing twisted and the gears got chewed up. Thankfully I had a spare set of gears so swapped them in but the same thing happened again the next time my daughter drove the car. I checked the the mechanisms and everything looked perfect and clean of all the old grease and cog shrapnel from all the chewed up cogs.
I ended up buying a brass set from ebay which took about 3 weeks to arrive. In the meantime I used the last plastic gear I had and sure enough it lasted 1 day.
I'm not saying there is an issue with the Gamiviti gears but I did realize that every set i have fitted were never used in the real world. I would put the seat full back and it would never move again..ever..until my daughter passed her driving test and wanted the coolest truck in the school parking lot.
The brass ones I fitted worked fantastic and have seen lots of forward and backward motion. I couldn't be happier with them.

Finally replaced all 4 of mine today. Tried the brass gears a couple weeks ago but they were way too tight. Ended up using the Gamiviti’s I had in the motor pots and replacing the entire assembly’s on the other side with OEM units. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Ok, a little update on this....

Couple weeks ago the wife tried moving her seat and it just quit.

It was already on its second Gamiviti gear, so I figured I'd try out one of the brass.

Sold as a pair on Amazon, they arrived next day.

Pulled the seat and the plastic gear was definitely munched.

Of the two brass gears sent, one looked pristine while the other looked like it had been used before.

Tried putting that one on the shaft and it just wouldn't fit (too tight)

Tried the other one and it slid on just fine

Popped it in, loaded it up with grease and it appears to be working fine

So a little update.....

The brass gear on the passenger side has been working fine, especially after the Window Rocket install (seats move much faster).

Unfortunately, the driver's side munched another Gamiviti gear over the weekend when I moved it fully forward to access a power inverter mounted underneath.

Took a shot and ordered another pair of brass gears, but just like the one from the last pair, neither of them would slide over the worm gear shaft.

Ended up reaming out each of the splines on the brass gear tube with a tiny drill bit.

A jeweler's saw would've probably been a better choice, but after workin on it for about 15 minutes, it finally slid on freely.

Loaded the housing up with fresh grease and it was good to go again.
