Front Runner roof rack questions

Did you install the air dam? How does it sound now?

Not yet. Waiting on FR to send some 130mm legs for the front as the 120mm with spacers were still a tad too short. Hopefully next week.

I debated about leaving that slat out too above the sunroof

I left that one out primarily because it could make contact with the glass with the sunroof flipped up, and I stood on that slat. Unlikely both of those conditions would be true, but didn't want to risk it. Also, without that slat, I could crawl out of the sunroof if I needed to, and it saves a pound or two of weight (not much, the slats are really light).

Did you install the air dam? How does it sound now?

I finally got mine on the 80 today and took a short test drive. With the air dam, the rack did not make much more noise than the Maxis MT's that I'm currently running. There will be another test drive in the near future with the to get her input.
