KY Longhunter, did you ever pursue the truck further? I have been looking at this truck as well. I saw that it was in an accident from the CarFax but I haven't been serious enough to call and ask for the repair sheet, so I didn't know the accident was that bad. Still, I'm thinking I could get a really great deal on it. ~$40k seems way too high for a vehicle with this kind of a damage history.

Bob,

No I didn't pursue though I did call and get the itemized body shop repair sheet.

I kept looking and found other 200 series in the $43,000 range, with 60,000 miles.

I agree that they should be willing to let it go for a discount. But should is the operative word. I didn't bother to offer lets say $35,000. But my guess they wouldn't take it. They said all repairs were done right.

Yeah, $35k is the number that has kind of been in the back of my mind, seeing as they've had it for a long time and of course the accident. I'll probably keep looking though; still early in my search. Thanks for the reply.

I just passed on a 08 with 38k miles for 44k list at dealer. There are tons of good deals out there. I wouldn't touch a vehicle that has sustained that much damage.

This thread is a perfect example of how insureds get screwed by not getting enough "loss of value" from their insurance companies. It wouldn't Surprise me at all if the owner of this 200 only got the repairs covered and zero compensation for decreased value when he went to sell the 200. Even if the repair is done at a great shop, people still don't want to pay anywhere near blue book for a previously wrecked cruiser, myself included.

This would have to be in the high $20's before I would even start to consider it.
