Yesterday while greasing up the chassis, i noticed that my front driveshaft is backwards from what is shown in the picture in my owners manual. The yoke side of the driveshaft is shown to be near the front diff in the pic, and on my LC the yoke side is at the T-case.

Is this an issue or does it not matter which way the drive shaft is positioned?

I would say it doesnt matter since both ends have joints to allow them to move and allign correctly. But if you want to turn it around that should take about as long as it does to read through the UC section so have at it man.

hopefully i will have the blazer up and running soon.... very soon... then the LC goes back to the garage for some much needed maintainence and improvements... the ground is not AS cold in the garage

Don't know what's right or wrong - but there's two ways to look at it:

1) Longest side attached to differential - so that when you grenade a pinion, you only have the short side attached the transfer case demolishing everything in its path (aka the drive it like you stole it version) :D ; or,

2) Short side attached to diff, as when it's done as in #1 above, water can sit in the shaft and rust the splines - no matter how well you think it's greased, this tends to happen.

My opinion - attach per your driving style.

i appreciate the responces guys
