Did 4 runner caliper conversion on 85 fj60. Front discs are hanging up and heating up pretty bad. Thinking something is up with the proportoining valve but I thought that would have more to do with the rear brakes.
I know the master is supposed to be a 1" bore but I didn't do the conversion so I'm not sure it's right. I don't see a 1 on it anywhere to designate the bore size.
Would I be able to run the stock 60 m/c and just have squishy brakes until I can get the correct m/c.
The truck drives fine up to about 55 mph then develops a harsh vibration. Could this vibration be unrelated to the brakes?
The rotors were supposed to be replaced with new but were not so I'm wondering if the new pads are just rubbing on the old worn rotors and causing this vibration?
Swapped everything from a working system on another 60 except for the proportioning valve and problem still persisted.
any help would be much appreciated because I need to get home!!!
