I went to play in a snow bank and the front diff won't lock :(
My bulb for the center diff is out. The center diff is locking when I lock the CDL switch and when I put it in L.
Does the CDL bulb not working not let the diff lock? The front diff light is flashing.
In L and CDL locked(I have not done the 7pin yet) I don't hear or feel the actuator do anything when the wife turns the switch on and off.
This is one time that I am glad that I have the Downey cable locker as it popped right in :)

Dude don't know. That why I ask the ? :D
What I need is a cable lock for the front 8)

The difflock ECU,(not the CDL ECU) needs to be told the center is locked. Just because the center is locking doesn't mean that the ECU knows. Check the lock indicator switch on the transfer case. Your bulb may not be burned out, it likely is not getting power to indicate the lockup.

Could that be why the CDL light on the dash is not working?
Is that indicator is bad or unplugged, would the CDL light on dash not light up with the key?

Kurt I edited my post to add that your bulb may not be bad at the same time you were replying. The CDL indicator does not light up with the key.

When I turn the key on I get the front and rear dif lock lights on. Why wouldn't all three come on?

I shorted the indicator plug and the light didn't come on.
With the electrical tester in the plug, I have continuity but no voltage.
I couldn't get to the indicator on the t-case.

Found the problem.
I used the old indicator from the old t-case. Plugged it in and pushed in the switch and the CDL light up and the front diff locked.

Dan, If there is a problem with my new t-case that is major, would it be under warranty still? The first t-case went bad at 10 months. Would the new t-case have a 2 mo warranty or another year?

Kurt,

I'm a bit lost. Did you remove an indicator switch from your old transfer and plug it into the truck's harness? If so, it may just be a bad switch in the transfer. I would maybe stick the known-good switch in the transfer and see if it works.

I took the old indicator front the original t-case and plugged it into the plug and pushed the switch with my big thumb and I got the light to come on. I didn't remove the indicator from the t-case that is having the problem.
I then plugged the plug back into the indicator on the t-case. It didn't fix it.

We went out for fish. The first fish didn't have the fish we wanted. In their p-lot I locked the CDL and drive round the lot. Nothing :(
At the next fish bar, I had walleye and root  After a full belly I tried the CDL switch again and drove up and down and round and round. Stopped, put it in N and it pooped in :o
IT WORKS
I unlocked and it took a while to unlock. Then locked again and it took a while to lock.
After dooing this several times it will lock in and out with ease.
Don't know what the problem was.
It was either not locking the center diff or the lock was not locking all the way, thus the dash CDL light didn't light up.
There could of been something in the slide where the fork slides keeping it from sliding. I will change the oil soon.

Kurt,
You gave me a headache so I'm going to bed. Post your current status in the morning after you sober up and before you get wired on caffine.

Ben,

Just hang a leg over the edge........You'll be fine :flipoff2:

-B- I am caffinefree :D

To sum it up:
1)no CDL light,no front diff lock
2)test with old indicator by plugging it into the plug to see if the wiring works,CDL light comes on front diff locks
3) plug the plug back into the indicator on t-case. drive till it locked. it did.
4) have a root  caffinefree :D

did I say I went to public school
