While rotating tires the other day I did a bit of checking. With both front wheels off the ground and grasping the front tire at the 12 and 6 position I alternately pushed in and out there was no wiggle on either side. However, when grasping at the 9 and 3 position there was some movement when alternately pushing in and out. I can't detect any shimmy when driving. There is some leakage from the steering rack but not much, I add maybe a couple of ounces of power steering fluid every 10,000 miles or so. So do I need to replaceable joints? or bushings? or what? The truck has 245,000+ miles.

Inner track rod seem to be the most common, pull the dust cover back on the rack and look for movement in the joint.
