Hi,

Hope you guys can share before and after photos of Front coil spacer 43136-60020 installed on stock
2017 Land Cruiser

and also, what are the steps needed in order to install the part?

Cause I've been reading that KDSS needed to be levelled? What does that mean?

Thanks in advance.

Mine is on RHS with 43136-60020 installed. Tire size on both trucks is stock (285/60/r18).

Nice photos - good to see the comparison. Also, @LCStve, check out the 200 FAQ and search KDSS. There are some threads that will help you with your knowledge hunt.

Here is mine. Suspension is stock except for the front spacers

Yes, it will need a front end alignment because you have to drop the coil spring to insert the spacer.

> also regarding KDSS, did you have to do anything before/ after installation of spacers?

No, the OEM spacer (and to the best of my knowledge even a 1" spacer) doesn't require any KDSS adjustment. Only BP51 + SPC UCA / new coil spring / 2" + lift would require the KDSS adjustment; which from what I read KDSS adjustment should be straight forward given a 2x4 and a hex key ... nice write up on the 200 forum somewhere which I read w/ pics from someone who went w the 2" lift.

OEM spacer is not much different from stock, honestly. The spacer itself is about 10mm thick; which ends up raising the front edge of the bumper by just a little under 1". (use trigonometry calculator online w/ LC wheel base of 112" and assume 24" front coil to front bumper end.)

Largest size tire you can have w/o a larger spacer / lift is 285/65/18 (with no rubbing). I will move to that size soon (currently @ 285/60/r18). That combo of tire size and OEM spacer would give about 1.25" additional ground clearance.... tame which is what I was after... but I really like the look of McGaskins setup.... This is what I would have put the $ towards if I had to do it all over again.....

thanks!!

So does the added 1" lift in front help with nose diving during breaking? Any other benefits besides added lift and better looks? thx

> does the ride get stiffer after installation of lift spacers?

No, only if you replaced the coil springs would that happen. The coil spacer is just that, it sits between the coil spring and the spring mount so no change in spring rate / absorption from the strut.

Another reference... see this other post p.2. for before / after coil spacer install 43136-60020 :

Builds - The Mall Crusher

If you want to fix nose dive when breaking swap out your stock coils for OME 2702 springs and 91005 struts. You will get a 2" lift and an amazing difference in nose dive and body roll. You can do OME 2722 springs in the rear which will lift 0.75" and eliminate most of the stock front rake.

Well, not completely true.

The coil spring does not dictate wheel alignment in an independent double-wishbone suspension setup. The wishbone control arms do. So unless one is dropping the control arms, there's not going to be a direct alignment change.

The lift created by the spacer can result in needing an alignment indirectly due to bump steer. Said another way, because the control arms now sits at rest at a different angle, the new position could create a slight variation in alignment. It's going to be very minimal compared to any real spring lift.
