I want to install a cooler/ rod setup (like the attached pictures) on the front of my truck, anybody have any ideas or pictures of a bracket for a 76 FJ40?

I have the stock bumper on the truck and Id like to put a 2" hitch reciever up front but im not sure what the best aproch would be.
thanks

depending on the orientation of your tow hooks up front you might be able to use the single 2" receiver from these guys https://bodiaknet.powweb.com/store/catalog/. I've got one on my GMC PU and it works great.

Do you have a receiver on the back? Put it back there, and back that ass up... to the shore that is..

Would a cooler in front of your radiator cause overheating problems?

you could always fill the cooler up with ICE and Natural Lights........and they would keep you from overheating:D:D:D

Lots of people in this area make custom rod holders for vehicles. I would go to a local marine fabricator and get them to make you exactly what you want. If you buy something off the shelf from a fishing store you will probably need to adapt it to a receiver or figure out a way to mount it to your bumper with brackets or drill holes or something... Lots of options out there and i've seen tons of custom homemade setups around here... Surf fishing for Stripers, Drum, trout, etc is huge around here... If you have a problem finding someone in your area send me a PM and I can give you some links to people who do nice custom work around here...
