I think that since you have a thread open to opinions people go overboard with what ifs. And become experts in structural metallurgy. From experience in structural design a quarter inch plate goes a long way according to payload. And I am talking about 10k's of pounds of stress. They also need to keep in mind how modular your bumper is. If they happen to launch their vehicle in such a way and land on boulders to dent the winch plate. I don't know who would wheel that hard? But guess what cut bolts if you can't undo them and get a new plate and voila! Fixed without buying a whole new bumper? Am I wrong?

@Huis Clos , are the frame ends 1/4"? I'm not worried about the bumper bending but rather the frame twisting.
I like your prior center section design better( would look even better once you get dimple dies!!!!). Larger dimpled holes staggered would be perfect! Is this 'face' on the center section still an option?

Also note the winch plate is 1/4" and the brackets are 1/4". The recovery plate on the ends of the wings are 1/2".... over built dude.

I tend to over worry & over think things!!!!!! You know more about this sh!t than I do so I trust your word. Having said that, how much to add it for looks?
The legs of @jcardona1 s rock sliders are only 8" long(or so), and look at his door sill after wheeling. I can flex the 1/2" plate(my material is even a572) the wings are mounted on with a high lift on the outside edge just from the vehicles weight if the top plate isn't installed.

Exactly! People on forums like to worry too much. Bolt the s*** on, go wheel it and have fun. If you mess it up leave it as is or spend the money and fix it. Repeat.

you're making me blush. It's hard to say... My bumper was too flimsy but was basically made from eighth inch plates and not fully triangulated. Bent right away. I need to redo it. i like just welding to the frame... better clearance and such

Not 1/4" but 3/16" but I am emphasizing the capabilities metal is capable. If you are wheeling the LC like a rock crawler you need to set up your rig with better articulation. But I think you are referring to damage if you were to get into an accident. I have read a guy get hit at 30mph head on on his ARB bumper and just bumper damage. Vehicle was probably around 3k pounds times traveling at 30mph that force will never be achieved while crawling so you will never bend the frame and underdawg's bumper created the bumper to articulate with the vehicle as I can see the space between the bumper and vehicle is well enough spaced where the bumper won't dig into the valence and fender of the lc. And if the Arb is capable to achieve such results imagine the superior possibility of an overbuilt modular bumper like underdawg's. No offense but you are overthinking in my opinion, without stating your rigs use. And if I may say I think he is willing to make custom around his modular design. Can you even whisper custom with any other company and also I like to mention that is important.
