Just put new pads on the truck and noticed that there is a slight increase in wear on the inside of the rotor vs. the outside pad? Wonder why that is? It's not much, maybe 3 mm or so, and they were Toyota 80 series pads.

Caliper pins well lubed? Sounds like they may be dragging a bit.

Your pistons could be so dirty/rusted they aren't moving properly. If your fluid is or has ever been really dark, you might want to go ahead and remove the calipers and R&R them per the FSM. If you have a compressor and the parts, its a quickie job.

the front calipers are 4 piston jobbies, so no pins. If the uneven wear is an issue it's with the calipers themselves.

By pins surely he meant the two slider pins on the back of the caliper. But I doubt those could affect caliper travel. FYI I found remanufactured Toyota calipers (with identical casting marks as my take offs) at O'Reilly's for $50 each. And the goodie bag of springs/slips/pins that came with them were OEM Toyota, sticker on the bag and all.

Wish that were true, but I'm afriad not...a purly unadulterated and misguided brain fart. My son and I were just working on his Celica brakes, hence the immediate thought of the sliding pins. Been a while (lucky me) since working on the LC brakes.

Only the rear calipers have slider pins. The pins on the front calipers are retainers and I really don't think they would be an issue with excessive wear and I can't see them binding enough to cause a problem. The most might be a slight angle to the pad but not a 3mm difference.

$50 for reman Toyota calipers! WOW! Do you remember was there a core charge for your old ones? I was thinking of rebuilding mine but for $50 that almost seems to good to be true.

I'll try to post a pic but for some reason my camera focuses on everything except the pads! Anyways, i wonder if this could be partially attributed to my caster being way off and i have a pull left or right when stopping?

they don't look bad to me considering how much pad you have worn off already.

Camera tip: take a high res shot at a little more distance so you get a nice in focus picture. Then crop the area you want and enlarge it to 8" wide. The enlarging process will then drop the DPI back down to provide a nice sharp closeup image being displayed at 72dpi (monitor res). You still might need to alter the DPI to get the file size down to Woody terms but the results are nice.
