front and rear diffs

Are the front and rear differential on a FJ62 interchangeable? My rear diff is growling pretty bad due to a bearing and I have found a front diff with the same gear ratio for free. I would like to use that diff while I rebuild the one that growls.

Yes, except that the rear diff has a center block to retain the c-clips; no c-clips in the front so the block is not needed. When using a front diff in the rear just swap over the block.
