I upgraded to the H55F (which rocks, by the way) in my '85 FJ60 with 350 Chevy v8 conversion. I therefore have the original 4-speed manual just laying in the garage.
The tranny worked great when I pulled it (just wanted the 5-speed and went ahead and upgraded during a clutch/bellhousing overhaul project).
It had around 198K miles when I pulled it and no known issues.
I'm moving within 2 weeks and would really rather not have to lug it around, especially to the new garage (which is much smaller).
We're in Spartanburg, SC and the transmission is FREE to a good home. Sorry, but I really don't have time to arrange for any shipping right now (busy preparing to move).
Also . . . the truck is for sale if anyone's interested (I'll make a post for that in the appropriate location).
