Can an FJ62 in-tank pump be put into an FJ60? I'm close to doing fuel injection, all the parts are rounded up except the fuel pump. I'm a bit skeptical about rotary vane type pumps since they don't self prime. Any suggestions? Experience?

I would be more worried that you stock carburetor could hold back the pressure. The EFI units build some pressure. The fuel filter bolts on and cannot be held on with simple clamps.

I can vision in my mind you blowing every fuel line connector, one at a time. Once you get all those done your carburetor will begin to flood.

Just a theory though.

If you do an FPR between the pump and the carb, then it's possible though the cautions on all the connections would still be true. Most EFI systems run 40-60 psi with the TBI's running lower (~15 psi) and some of the real late stuff going over 100 psi.
I would suggest that it be a returning type FRP (i.e. like most EFI FPR's) so that the pump isn't essentially deadheaded.

Not directly. There is a larger/differnt hole in the FJ62 fuel tank for the pump to drop into.

The entire FJ62 tank w/ internal pump will bolt under the FJ60.

Or maybe find a small in tank pump that could be dropped in the tank, attached to the underside of the Fj60 fuel pickup or fuel sender?

It's not going to a carb. It's TBI with an 18 PSI regulator to handle the HP. And for what it's worth, my BMW uses standard hose clamps on the filter that is downstream from the pump.
