Fox 2.0 Performance smooth bodies or Ironman Foam cell? The title pretty much says it all. Looking for some new shocks. Truck is mostly stock, on 861/862 with 40mm spacers and 33" tires. Aluminum front bumper which is very light but Warn M12000 up front, not so light. I might add sliders and a skid plate but probably no rear bumper. I am trying to keep things light and simple. More of a expo truck than rock crawler. Downsouth has smooth body Fox 2.0 Performance series shocks for a little cheaper than Ironman foam Cells. Which way would you go?

Buy the Fox .. I got em and they rock!! Downsouth off road parts on Ebay.

Make sure whoever you buy them from is an authorized Fox dealer. This way of you have any concerns (warranty/re-valving) they will be taken care of correctly.

Fox all the way! Foam cell is very old technology to keep oil from foaming up. Fox uses new technology and use high pressure nitrogen to keep the oil foaming. Plus fox shock body and hardware are made of aluminum so they are rust proof and run cooler. Then here is better valving, seals, bushing, shaft.........you get the idea.

It's like comparing a 97 LC to a 79 jeep, not even close.

I've never used the Fox shocks but I'm happy with the ride of the Ironman foam cell... Especially offroad. They do have some light rust spots after only a year though.

Ironman also makes a Nitrogen shock. That may be a better comparison. They also just came out with a Foam Cell Pro. I don't know if it's available in the US yet.
