I AM GETTING READY TO LINK AND COILOVER MY CRUISERBUGGY I STILL LOVE MY HEAVY 2F AND 40 AXLES. I WOULD RATHER MY BUGGY HAVE A SOUL NOT A BUNCH OF MISS MACTHED PARTS FINE IF SOMEONE WANTS TO DO THAT. BUT I LIKE THE FACT THAT I AM USING 30 YEAR OLD TECHNOLOGY MINIS SOME UPGRADES TO ATTEMPT WHAT THE PROS DO WITH NEW STUFF.
ANYWAY SHOW ME YOUR PICS OF HOW YOU LINKED YOURS AND MAYBE SOME SPECS THE FRONT IS MY BIG CONCERNE.

THIS IS MY BEFORE SHOT.

my rear links were easy....all 39" eye to eye, splayed lowers, and v'd uppers....thru frame sleeve for the upper mount, lower is below frame.

Front is in design stages....most likely, 3-link with panhard, space and steering thots. Wanna run the same length stuff, but we'll see....

yeah i eyeballed your 4 link at toys 4 tots. i think i will run something very much like yours. I have seen a front setup with four link but it is tight. i am thinking hydro steer single ram. with 4x4 LABS arms to put relay rod in rear. with ram up front. Funny thing is i fixed all the carb problems i had at attica with you guys. and put a 95 amp alt on solved all my elect issues. wheeled it twice now i am going to tear apart my suspension do some new tube work. and coilover the thing. i am just punishing myself in the end it will be worth it.

thanx looks nice always good to see what other people did helps decide how i am going to do mine. i started with the back alot simplier. plus i cut off the back off my frame. and have some tube rework to do.

update finished boxing frame and removed rear spring pearches wish now i had not put that half inch gusset on them. removed rear tube shortened 4" reattached. i will lose about 10" in the front off the frame and 6" in the back includeing frame. so that is a grand total of 16" off the frame while kepping my same wheelbase of 110". can't wait till the little brown truck brings my parts.

still waiting for parts from poly perfomance i got backordered. finished cutting off some extra fat on the truck and shortened front end and made a space for the winch. thinking i am going to do a 3 link in the front i do not want to modify my header i just bought it not that long ago. i need my tube adapters before i order my tube for my links. at 11 bucks a foot i want to be sure. i am going to go with 2 1/4 od with 1 1/4 id i think we will see what the adapter is.

what steering setup are you going to be using?

in the shop that might seem like a decent idea but once your out in the trail with those twine links, they'll snap

heeyy those twine links are just as strong as some of the other links i have seen on this site. those are 8 ply :flipoff2:

:shotts: no more pleaseeeee

anyway i am going to do A 3 LINK WITH PAN HARD IN FRONT USING FULL HYDRO FOR STEERING HAVE NOT DECIDED ON DOUBLE OR SINGLE RAM YET.
IT IS TAKING ME A WHILE TO DO THE LINKS BECAUSE ONE I AM WAITING FOR MY JOHNNY JOINTS FROM POLY PERFORMACE TO SHOW DUE TO BO. AND TWO I HAVE BEEN ON PIRATE DOING ALL THE ROCKET SCIENCE TO TRY AND MAXIMISE MY SETUP. SO FAR FORMULA COMES UP WITH A 36" EYE TO EYE LOWER WITH 46" SEPARATION ON AXLE AND 35" ON FRAME. AND UPPERS 33" EYE TO EYE WITH 6" SEPARATION AT AXLE AND 30" AT FRAME. WILL USE ADJUSTABLE UPPER MOUNTS TO PLAY WITH ANTISQUAT BUT I WILL START WITH AS LITTLE AS POSSIBLE AND GO FROM THIER. WHAT I HAVE FOUND THROUGH MY REASEARCHE IS THEIR ARE WAY TO MANY OPINIONS ON THIS AND HALF OF THEM ARE JUST WHAT SOMEONE READ SOMEWERE. SO I PICKED A FEW GURU'S AND STUCK TO THEIR ADVISE. THE NUMBERS ALL LOOK GOOD AND I SHOULD START THE LINKS BY NEXT WEEK WHEN MY TUBE AND MY HEIMS GET HERE. USING 2 1/4 OD WITH 1 1/4 ID DOM FOR LOWERS AND UPPERS. AND AM LEANING TOWARDS SWAY AWAY 16" COILOVERS.

what do you think i should do? single ram with 4x4 labs arm with rod in back. or double ram. both would be close in cost. single ram would be less fab work and would set back farther being i would not have to clear the 3rd member. i would just run it in the oppisite direction then stock. but double ram would be stronger right?

DOuble ram.

But I have to ask, why run a panahrd bar with full hydro?

He doesn't want to get rid of his header, or mod it:flipoff2:

Just get a few cases of beer, then put s*** where it fits:grinpimp:

Links massage headers nicely ;)

well got my parts today and wouldn't you know it after all this waiting they sent me the wrong size tube adaptors. story of my life here are some pics of the ends and the brackets the smaller fk end is for my upper links and bigger johhny joints are for lowers. i will probably wait till we get back from gsmtr to order tube hope adaptors are here by then. And i am leaning more towards the double ram for steering now for clearence reasons plus it is just way cool.

Here are pre 4 link pics, from the cruiser housing and wristed lowers with panhard. Hydro assist single ended ram. Built this way because of desire to retain stock motor with header.
