Illinois, when not at the beach.
Came across a 2000 base 4Runner that seems to be in Good shape. 212k miles, only surface rust on the frame (unbelievable), body felt solid. Manual transmission 4wd. Cloth Interior clean and untorn. Ran very well.

Had aftermarket ‘Fuel’ wheels and Bilsteins (not sure which model) with new Falken Wildpeak tires (265/70 x17). Should have taken undercarriage photos. Will get some and post.

What should I look for?

What are the problems with this model?

Any info is appreciated. Thank you.

Nothing here?

Can anyone suggest another site/forum/board where I might find info on this model? I looked on 4Runner.com but didn't see anything really relevant.

Appreciate the help.

Update. Found -and bought - a very nice 2000 SR5 5-speed manual with 190,000 miles. Everything works. Almost everything that needs to, has been recently updated (e.g. timing belt, water pump, thermostat, brakes). Best of all, only surface rust on the frame. Intend to clean the frame, prime a few spots, and apply FluidFilm. Will replace the original radiator and lower ball joints to be safe.
