Found a FJ62, good buy?

My budget is around $4000, assuming I can get 3-3.5 for the pathfinder (I could put it up for 4 and see if i get any offers.). My main interest in this cruiser was the fact that it had new tires and it was only $1400, leaving me some money to put some more work into it.
I've seen a few rigs around for 3-4k that look pretty decent so i'll most likely follow up on one of those. I just need to learn how to drive stick...

Man that is one rusty rig for oregon.
There are a lot of nice cruisers to choose from in oregon and the west coast.
Keep looking and you will find a nice one.
I live closer to portland and there are a lot of nice ones around here.
It would be worth the drive :steer: to get a rust free cruiser. You will be money ahead if you don't have to do a tone of body work.
Good luck with your hunt.

what are the wheels?

I dunno for $1400 or less....looks like a great beater

While it's true there are a lot nicer rigs in Oregon, they aren't $1400, they're $4k or more.

IF you are passing on it, could you get me the info? I'm in KFalls - where is this rig? I'm looking for a Parts rig.

Nevermind - I found the ad I'm going to call on it after work.

Looked at it, good rig for the $$, frame doesn't have much of a future aside from a trail rig.... Body is shot. Interior is functional but not much resell value.. Tires were in excellent condition, like new. Good parts rig, I'm thinkin' about it as a parts/part out rig.. Would be a good trail/beater rig and then part it out.

Here is a fj60 i found on craigslist.
No rust , low miles for the year. Just found it on craigslist in portland, it's not mine.

Joel,

If you look at it, would you post up what the tires are. 34x9.5 TSLs? 34x10.5 LTBs? Something in a 16" rim size?

Thanks,
Curt.

Yeah, salt will do magic to your metal. Try finding a 62 up here in the NE w/no rust. Keep looking, I just found a rust free from TX for $2900. Good luck.

Called on it a couple of times since I wouldn't be able to make it over to medford until Tomorrow at the earliest. It sold this afternoon. Did a Mudder pick it up? I was really looking forward to having a parts rig!

Hopefully a few of those rigs will still be for sale when I head up for Spring Break in a few weeks.

So, who actually ended up buying the rused out cruiser?

34x9.5x R15

Joel,

If you look at it, would you post up what the tires are. 34x9.5 TSLs? 34x10.5 LTBs? Something in a 16" rim size?

Thanks,
Curt.

Tires are 34x9.5 R15, yep, R15. I looked on one site and only the 16.5 came up in this size, very narrow and GNARLY...

I worked out a trade-deal, found the ad before it showed up here. Rig came from Illinois. As bad as it looks-it runs pretty good. Tires rub under articulation, mounted on steelies, might not be toyota, offset seems a bit too far in for OEM toyota rims. Spacer on fronts and not enough bolt to nut contact. No spacer on rear. I would say it is definitely a beater or a parts/donor rig. Drive train is good, frame is there but not worth using for anything else, Dash, front carpets (with a good cleaning) are good. If anyone is still real serious about a parts rig let me know.

Interco list them as a Narrow Special Service size in a different page.

Narrow S.S. :: Interco Tire

Would you think these would work alright with a 2.5" lift and no spacers? (can't recall if a lift was mentioned by the OP). I've been debating these, 32x9.5s and the 34x10.5 LTBs for a second set of stock rims.....
