I recently posted a problem with a check engine light that showed a P0300 and P0301 engine code. I have replaced the plugs, cap, rotor, and wires with factory parts. I am getting spark to all of the plugs yet the #1 plug is fouling and I think not firing causing the rough idle. I checked the injectors with an automotive stethoscope and they are all clicking.

What gives? Is my next move to pull the injectors and have them sent out for cleaning? If an injector is clicking can it still be responsible for fouling a plug? I have seen posts about the injector wires shorting out, but am I to assume that if the #1 injector is clicking that I do not have a short? I want to eliminate all possibilities before taking out a second mortgage to afford having the dealer look at it.

I pulled the head and have a burnt exhaust valve on #1 cylinder

did you see anything off with the compression test?

I recently went through the same thing. It ended up being a short in the wiring harness under the dash. It rubs up against a braket. Unfortunately, I have not taken a picture of it. But save yourself the money, and start looking at the wireing.

Mudshack, you're slack'n. Pull out the glove box (it's only two plastic clips, no tools required), and take a picture.

Rich. Duh. I just don't have the work Dig Cam. It has been in use since the fix.

#1 cylinder had Zero compression. Now that the head is off I'm going to have it rebuilt,
the injectors cleaned, a new head gasket and all new belts and hoses.
