Been talking to the guy with the green 94. This one has OME suspension, Slee sliders, Slee rear bumper with tire carrier, ARB winch bull bar, Slee dual battery system, 164,000 miles with the head gasket and PHH done, no lockers but he's spent a lot of money on this one. I think I can get a pretty good deal on it from talking to him. He did say he took the sway bar off because he wasn't driving it much on the road and said it would lean pretty hard when hitting an off ramp or something like that at a higher speed. Like I said in the past, I really have't done a lot of trail riding but why would he have taken the sway bar off? He did say after a couple moves that he couldn't find it so is that something I should be concerned with? He sent me a ton of pics of the underside and it's clean. He said there's no oil leaks, air blows ice cold, but does need a new head light and tail light lens. Thanks for your help.

Front or rear sway bar? I've been running mine w/o a rear since I did my FF swap. Is it a concern, wouldn't be for me, but I'm a slow driver so generally body roll isn't an issue, but if you plan to do a lot of manuvering at speed you may want to find a replacement.

With mine off the rear stretches out really nicely, helping keep the tires planted.

I saw that one over in the Upstate clubhouse. Good looking rig.
 
Sorry, I thought I posted my last post in Chit Chat, but will make one more post and then move over to there for anything else. He said he took the front sway bar off when he took it to Wind Rock a few years ago and said he doesn't have a clue where it's at. He said his wife is putting the pressure on him to sell it so they can buy a house. He said he's had it since 1998 and the bottom of this thing is really clean with no fluid leaks. I know it's like a broken record but I really want lockers. If I could get it for what I think I can, I could afford to put ARB's in the front and rear. I'm being picky because I plan on keeping the next one for a long time so I want to get the most I can for what I can spend. I'm also looking at this one and thinking about how much I would have to spend to get it to where he has it right now, it would be a lot more than a set of ARB's would cost. Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated

what alot of people dont realize is that if the lockers havent been maintained and used there is a good chance they will not work and you will have to spend some money getting them working again. I have seen and used both air and electric lockers and would much rather have air. Less things to go wrong and if you get a big enough air compressor you can have on board air. IMO

i have a few 3rd member housings in my garage for a 40. Best i remember, housings are interchangeable on 40s and 60s. Text me if interested...let me know how complete you need (bearing caps, etc...)

Thanks Nik, I got one and hope to have it back together in a week or two. Really need a windshield now. Think Andy Ridge has one, only wish there was one closer.
 
@RSHARPfzj80 does the parts truck have a lift on it that you'd be interested in parting with? Or did you happen to keep your old coils?

If anybody has any lift coils for an 80, I may be in the market soon.

It has OME medium/mediums on it. They have been spoken for already. Just have to take it off. I'll keep an eye out though.
 
Any of you 60 guys have a H42 and a factory split case that you need to be rid of? Looking for a pair in good shape. With extension from a later 60 is preferred, but not a deal breaker. Thanks

I have a good H42 I will trade for the trans out of the 91 .lol
 
image.webp image.webp Hey Guys, im considering selling my 40 . Its a 73 model. runs great chevy v8 lots of new parts last fall. New holley 600 electric carb, new header, intake, and exhaust system, Tires and wheels are brand new- less than 200 miles. has usual rust spots, i do have new rocker panels and rear panels that go with it, as well as some other parts. ill throw out a price of 4500 obo throw out an offer, wont hurt my feelings . image.webp
