FJ60 bumpstops?

I need a pair of FJ60 bump stops if you got a set. Are they same on the front and rear? Let me know if you got a set laying around.

Thanks.

I've got some sitting underneath a grey '85 parts truck at my father's house. If you are willing to drive to the south valley and take them off yourself the next time you're in town you can have them. Front and rear the same? - I don't know.

First I would like to say that we have 3 or more guys that say they are looking for an 80. If we let this one get away without an HDC member buying it then you guys are not trying very hard. This is potentially a smokin' deal guys.

1997 Toyota Land Cruiser FZJ80 with 150k miles (actual ~149,900 as of Sunday)
VIN JT3HJ85J0V0182097
Desert Dune over Moonglow pearl (Same color combo as mine... damn good looking too!)
Tan guts that looks pretty good through the windows. Couldn't get in, it was locked.
4 tires on the ground look in good to excellent condition. Stock size Michelin LTX. (Factory spec tires)
Factory alloys, moonroof, 3rd row, leather, power seats, premium sound, running boards, roof rack, wind deflector, trailer hitch (Class-III), ABS, air bags, OBD-II, and all the other amenities one would expect on the best off-road luxury SUV ever made
Body looks in good condition, front bumper might have taken a slight bump sometime over the years. The bumper wasn't dented or bent but it didn't fit quite right. I couldn't check vin number on the body panels. Paint looks original and in excellent condition. No desert pinstriping. A small spot on a couple of the flares where the clear coat is flaking off (this is quite common and mine is doing the same thing on 1 of the original flares.)

It is at a dealer in Bernalillo and he has a story about it being owned by a friend of the guy that owns the lot and they are trying to help this friend sell it because this friend bought a used Volvo from them.... I call BS but that's just me. Seller told me it is a NM truck and says he has not run a Carfax. If someone can pull a Carfax then we will know for sure.

It appears they tried to run it through Manheim auction last week with a no-sale. That tells me that someone would like to turn this vehicle pretty quickly. He is supposedly checking to see if maintenance records are available and going to call me back. I will post up whatever I find out.

He says they will take $6,500. That is their starting price and $6,500 is a great price for a nice New Mexico 1997 FZJ80 w/150k. I would think a skilled negotiator could drive it away for $5,500 to $6,000. Start out at $5k and see if he will move. Since he says he doesn't own it, it should not hurt his feelings to give the owner a call and make an offer.

Oh.... one more thing.

You thought I forgot didn't you. :D

Yes, it has the factory diff lock option. :flipoff2:

Jon and I didn't test drive the truck and we didn't look underneath to be sure that it still has the electric motors on the diffs, but it has the switch and I'll guarantee you it has the F&R lockers.

Good Luck to those of you that are serious about buying a locked late model 80. Remember, only around 7% of the total produced had the diff lock option. Yes, you can retrofit ARB lockers for about $2,000 but these are "free" so to speak.

I will repeat for the slow among us. :D

You guys looking for an 80 better get your ducks in a row, get your money ready and be prepared to pull the trigger. There are some deals out there for those that don't take months to make a decision

-Mike-

I hear that Mike, wish I was more ready!!
We have listed Momma's car, got an email on it tonight, so we shall see. This time next week, I could be ready to go!:p
Daisy

So, what is "Momma's car"?

Sorry about that, guess i should let you all know.
Here is the link to the ad 08 Subaru Forester, LIKE NEW, PRICE REDUCED!!

The price is a little high, but its what I need to get out of it clean. When this happens, Christi takes the Murano and I get to go shopping for an 80:bounce:

The car is great, just not big enough for the family.
Of course there is a discount for 'mud folks.

Looking for an 80. This guy is asking 8K for his LX 450 with 129K on it. I talked to him yesterday and asked about the "diff lock" option sounding stupid I asked if there was a swtich for it. He said to the left of the steering wheel. Sounds like he has the front and rear locks to me. I can pass on the VIN if anyone is intrested. interior looks nice with only two pics he sent me. Here's the link 1997 LX450 Land Cruiser Great shape!

FJ60 for sale

Check out the ad for this fantastic FJ60.

Marc, I though that was kinda of funny, I think a few read it.

Anyways,

After quite a bit of thinking, I have not decided what to do with the 40. The pride in me wants to keep working at it, but some logical side says to bail and sell it. My only prob is that I won't get the money I have been spending (of course that is usual). I have the lift, ubolt flip kit (and extra ubolts), floor panels and some other thing I have bought for it. In the long run, I don't think I will wheel it because I don't have PS and tires (even more money!). I am thinking to part it out to get some money back and free the small garage I have to park the 80. Of course there is also the 350, SM 420, and PTO winch that can be up for grabs. I just want to get a feel if there is a want for the major parts before taking her apart. Let me know what you think.

Rudy -

Just out of curiosity, how much do you want for it all?

how much for the 350? year? TBI or Carb?

Didn't curiosity kill the cat? Are you intrested in buying all of it? Let me give some more info as to what I have.

how much for the 350? year? TBI or Carb?

Shawn, it's not looking like there is many locals interested, and I don't want to ship any of the big parts. I won't sell the engine alone, cuz then I will be even more in a bind. If I don't have enough intrest, I guess I have to finish the work and drive it for a while. Just some more info:

I bought the truck around 2000, it came with the 350 (new Edlebrok Carb) and SM420 installed by Lee Galles (need to pull the folder of reciepts to check the exact year) in about the mid 90's. The owner who paid for the installation did not put many miles on it, and my friend Shawn I bought it from after that didn't either. I drove it for less than a year until the fuse block cought on fire. Bought a Painless Wiring Harness from MAF, and I kept going from there:

Bought a '76 pig to change the front to disk brakes - 500$
New Axle rebuild kit - 100$ something
New 4" MAF Safari Deluxe lift kit with the greasable schakles - just over 1K shipped
New MAF 4+ U-bolt flip kit - around 350$
New MAF guage panel - 50$ plus about antoher 100$ for all new gauges
NewComplete Tie Rod Kit for '76 axle from Dan - 388$
New Real Steel Cruisers parts: DS, PS floor panels, rocker panels for both DS and PS inside and out, and the midbed - about 950$ IIRC
New NAPA Rotor's 180$ IIRC

Steve, if you want to do the math, that is about 3k in just new parts (sure I am missing a couple of other things i bought), Umm add the Cruiser, 350 and sm420, with low miles, '76 disk front axle, PTO winch. If it all goes at once, I may be out of my mind or out of line but I want to look at 3500$ for all the above and whatever else I forgot. Of course anything is negotabile.
