I am in Fort Myers. Is "HJ" the equivalent of "BJ" but in the 4-door land cruisers?

As I understand things, diesel versions of fj40, fj60, etc. were never distributed by Toyata-USA.

How and where would I get parts for the diesel? How and where would I get servicing?

HJ is the 6 cyl, BJ is the 4 cyl, IIRC.

Parts should be easy enough to get through CDan- probably need to go through Canada for hard to find stuff.

can you get some more shots of the engine and the drive train... t case engine and tranny mounts.. what all needs to be done for this to be road worthy?

how many miles on the 350 before you put it in ? compression numbers? any rust on the vehicle hiding maybe under the hurculiner? i have been looking for a 40 for a while and i think i'm just gonna buy this project truck, any shots of where you trimmed the body would be nice to... is the hard top complete or in completly there? do you think this is capable of driving a couple hundred miles? can you arrange shipping if i pay for it, but i'm still seeing if it would be cheaper to fly out and drive it back. does the 4 wheel drive work? solid? just leaky seals from installation?

.sorry for all the questions i just want to know what i'm gettin into....

(this is al's bro - don't worry he isn't sellin out to 40's )

Ok here’s the deal. I built this truck with a buddy of mine here in town (he is a cruiser head) he also ran a towing company, we pulled the motor from a pick up that was rear-ended. I’m not pos on the miles but I do recall 70 or 80K. The truck runs hot but as I said I don’t know if it’s the gauges or thermo or what? The body was trimmed under the doors and the front fenders also trimmed. I cut out and rewelded steel in the floor on the driver side, which was the only place I saw rust.other then the corners. i also cut the rust out in the corners and did as best i could rewelding steel in there as well. (also have some pics if oyu want them) I have had the floor down to bare metal to check and there’s a pic as well. I don’t know the compression? However the truck runs strong. As I have mentioned the truck needs a new PS bracket, gauges need work, brakes need adjusting, and the leaks. I don’t know about driving it long distances because as I have said it seems to run hot and I have never driven in long distances. To be honest in the 3 years of building this truck I have only driven it about 70 miles total. I can defiantly help you set up transportation and what not. I don’t want there to be any misunderstanding here though I personally do not consider this a ready to go truck. It does need some work hence the $4000 price tag. I have over $3000 in recites in the past 3 years and they all have no more then 70 miles on them. The 4-wheel drive works fine it has a twin stick since it’s a Dana 18. heres some more pics from all through out the time ive had it.
