2 1972 FJ 40's for sale in SC
I hate to, but I have 2 1972 FJ 40's for sale.
The first is red. It runs and drives, but needs the cross member replaced(rusted, I have the replacement). I have looked at the frame and that is the only spot I see that bad. The rest of the frame is rusty, but I think its ok.
The body is off of a newer cruiser, it has the gas cap cover, and the newer steering wheel. It needs a new driver side floor pan under the seat. I'd replace the drivers front fender too. The top is in pretty good shape. Only surface rust that I have seen.
It has the stock F engine and 3 speed trannie. The engine has the GM HEI distributor in it. I think the trannie wil need a throw out bearing some time soon.
I was going to turn this into a trail cruiser, but time and distance prevent that.
The second is green with a white top. This is a parts truck. I do not have a title. I might be able to get one, but I'm not sure. The tub is almost non exsistant. I do not know if it runs, although the engine looks to be in good shape. The drive train appears to be all there, except for one hub, and the front drive shaft. The hub is non asian. It appears to have the stock 3 speed. Missing 2 wheels. The doors and top look to be from a diff truck at some point. They are in ok shape. Some rust damage though, along the bottom of the doors and rain gutter. Top and doors appear usable.
They are located about 30 min south of Columbia SC . I will be here until jan 5, and will be able to help show/load them until then. I will not part these out. I will seperate, but would rather not. I'd like $2500 for both. Pics coming as soon as I can find a cam.

Looking for a very cheap restorable 40,near GA
hey guys im looking for a cheap restorable 40 to work on for a while, would prefer something that looks like crap but that maybe runs and drives, but you know you cant make your cake and eat it too, lol. Im in GA so would like to find something relatively close. Thanks ahead of time for any posts.

Here you go man they probably arent to far from you. I was trying to sell him 2 wheels but now hes selling the cruisers so maybe you'll want my 2 spare wheels if you buy them.

Im in Rockmart, GA, probally never heard of it huh,lol, about 30 miles west of atlanta, yeah im trying to get back into the world of the fj, i had a sweet 60 but unfortunatley had to sell about a year ago due to financial situation, it sucked! so im trying to slowly slip back in thought id but a cheap one and slowly fixer up, instead of buying a more pricey nice one, soooo, we will see what happens would rather find a cheaper 60 or 62 but it seemed i was seeing cheaper 40s while i wasnt looking to get one now im seeing cheapers 60s, SO NEW POST-------------------------

Just made the drive from Atlanta all the way up to Conway, SC this past week right up through Columbia. Its about 2 1/2 - 3 hours drive so thats not to far from you if you decide to pick up a 40. Good Luck

If I can get this to work. The PO had put some bondo on the rear drivers side. He put it over the old paint, and it was holding water. I chipped it off. I dont think it really needed it anyway. 3 rust holes visable just behind the door.

How about a 86 60, slightly dented (not really see pic), daily driver for for past 8 years, lived entire life in NC and Ga, damaged to side last year, if interested I'll let ya know everything I know about her. $3200 OBO in Dacula, GA (up 85 just past the mall of georgia)
