Sorry about the delay. I could not find the darn thread.

The first picture is the clutch pedal in the normal position.

The second picture is the clutch pedal half way down.

The third picture is the clutch pedal fully depressed.

D'Animal, thanks for doing that, seems a little close, especially with my clown feet!

I was going to post a pic of me trying to push the pedal down with my foot. All I got was a picture of my 10.5 boot.

There is a lip all the way around the base of the foot rest. I have heard of some guys trimming the base or cutting the foot rest in half and forming it to the kick panel. Either way, it still does not give enough room for a size 10.5 foot to safely push the clutch in without getting hung up on the foot rest or the brake.

Definitely not my 13 in boots!

I have the dead pedal in my 62 and the clutch pedal is fine. I can wear my Iceman boots and use the clutch without any trouble. The pedal assembly came out of a 87' FJ60.

thanks a lot

D'animal for taking the time to do this,i hope i did'nt hamper your weekend.i will definitely install one.i'll pm landcruiserman he got one on hold for me.this would be a great add on to some of us that seek foot rest.:bounce::bounce2::clap:john

Im currently fabricating one from, oddly enough, an old bass-drum pedal from my drum set !!! its made from aluminum and i just need to make brackets for it .

Here are some pictures of the dead pedal in our '89 FJ62. We had the auto swapped out for a 4-speed about 4 years ago.

I find the dead pedal very useful when navigating off camber trails. It helps to provide a good purchase point for my foot to push me back into the seat.

I have not had any trouble w/ it getting in my way. I often drive w/ my hiking boots on and still have no trouble with the clutch and the brake at the same time.

I'll try to get another one w/o my feet in the way.
(please excuse the messy floor mats. I haven't cleaned up from the camping trip last weekend.)

I cut down an LX450 dead pedal to match the height of my Lokar gas pedal. About $45 from the stealer IIRC. Only mistake I made was not cantng it towards the steering wheel. Now I need to fab a wedge to get that effect.

I love how everyone seems to be missing a clutch or brake pad, or both... Same with mine. :D

Gives it character...

This is the drum pedal installed. I didnt really like the idea of drilling holes in the floor plate but it was well worth it. The back was fitted with cut rubber for extra insulation.

Velcro

Also note velcro strip on left side that would normally hold a small flash light.....

John,
Not sure what "3/4" view would be, but I hope these help. Let me know if you need some different angles.

ill tell you guys this, i bet my big fat a** size 13 foot would get caught on it trying to shift into 1 from a stop and i will prolly stall...

if you cant find em, grind em! :)

thanks a lot

michael for taking the time and posting some pics.the shot was just what i needed.i'll post some pics when i get this thing to work,i'll try working on it this weekend.:bounce::cheers: john

Here's what I'm thinking about. If you look at the picturein post 9, it's a different style foot rest than the one above. It looks thinner, and if you trimmed the outdent for the left kick panel, it might be really thin. The post 9 foot rest seems to be for an 80 series. The one above is for the 60 series. The 80 series also shows there is a bracked used, but 80 series footrest (alone) is cheaper than the 60 series ($30 vs $50--something like that). Does anybody know if the 80 series will fit in a 60 series and if you end up with more pedal room?
