No shortage of information to read. Finally decided on 285/75 R 16's.

They certainly make the Cruiser handle differently. I will be interested to see what kind of mileage I get out of them. Suckers have gotten expensive, thats for sure.

Thanks to everyone who posted previously. It was a great help to me when trying to decide whether to go back with the Michelin's or try something else.

Sheeeesh, can't correct the spelling (advice) in my own title.

So, now you have a manly tire. Do you feel any different? Besides poorer :grinpimp:

I have a daughter in college, so I'm used to the poor part.

The slight increase in size (33" inch tire now) looks much better IMO. No clearance issues at all .

Salesperson at the tire store (friend of mine), didn't think they would fit. I assured him that I had done my homework, and that they would. Actually, there is room to spare.

I do need some fresh shocks though. Just waiting for C-Dan to return.

That was my first mod 3 months ago! Very nice! I also did the Slee speedo correction gear (very easy install). I did the shocks last month are there was a hugh improvement (my 96 has 112k), this weekend the new springs go on as the old ones are to soft and bouncy:bounce2:

Good Choice

PS I get 18.5 mpg highway avg speed 60-65 with the Revos:cheers:
Don't ask about city mpg:flipoff2:

For what it's worth now, I put the regular Bridgestone dualer A/T's 305/75R16 on my 96' cruiser and have been very happy with little noise, good clean out in mud, smooth no jitter hwy speed and wears good, fit stock w/o lift, plus alot cheaper than the revos. Good luck

Flintknapper may I ask how much you paid for them and where? I paid A$1,250 for five a few months ago.

No problem.

$932.50 for 5 mounted and balanced. $77.00 Tax= $1000.50

Thats (personal friend price).

Per tire, that worked out only $10.00 cheaper than the best deal I could gotten elsewhere, but he didn't charge me for mounting and balancing, and it includes lifetime balance and rotation.

That's about the same after the conversion rate. Cheers

is this the revo you are talking about?

I am looking for a long trip (across the country) great A/T tire... could this be it? Is this it? Right now my new-to-me 80 has M/Ts on it which are great. But i have a spare set of rims and was thinking of putting an A/T on...

I just put the 295/75/R16 Revos on my '96 FZJ80. It has OME heavies and bull bar, Kaymar rear, extra gas tank, etc. I really like the way the truck feels on the road now, and the tires have a 50K mile garuantee. The main difference between this and the standrad Dueler is the re-compounded rubber and the tread pattern. The Regular AT's are going for cheap since the intro of this tire.

BTW, I paid $960 for 5, all in.

I paid $750 for 4 looks like I need one more!

I paid $900 for 8 toyo open country at's for my taco and 80, included mount/balance/road hazard. $$$

PS- They handle great.

First impressions:

Handling is improved (subjective), but response to steering input certainly seems quicker.

No noticeable increase in noise. No noticeable loss of power (but nearly all of our travel is on the highway).

Ride is a little rougher, but that was expected (the air pressure is still "high" from when they mounted them). I was advised to leave them at 50 psi. for a couple of days and then reduce air pressure. Additionally, I think I will benefit from the purchase of new shocks.

It hasn't rained here yet...so I don't know anything about wet weather handling. I expect will be better than the LTX's simply because the LTX has a "closed shoulder".

Anyway, so far... I like 'em.
